Lessons I Learned in 2023

With the year coming to a close, I feel so grateful for all of the memories, opportunities, and experiences I’ve had. This year was filled with so much positivity and lots of excitement.

Here are a few things I have learned along the way:

001 – You can’t pour from an empty cup

To be honest, this is a lesson that I feel I am still learning. I am a perpetual people pleaser and tend to be overly ambitious. I’ve been known to bite off way more than I can chew and the feeling of burnout has become too familiar at times. I am vowing to head into the new year with an intention to make more time for myself.

002 – My decisions might not make sense to others, but they make sense to me

I’ve always been very trusting of my gut, and this year I made some decisions just because they felt right to me. I’ve learned that this is okay and that I don’t owe everyone an explanation for the direction I’m headed.

003 – Never stop learning

While I’ve always had a curiosity to learn new things, this year I made it a priority to explore new areas of creativity just for fun. Working in a creative realm, the playful feelings of creativity can sometimes get lost in the need to meet commitments and deadlines. One of my best friends Caroline inspired me to try out photography this year and after getting myself a camera I now have a new creative hobby that is lighting me up.

004 – Spend more time with people who inspire you

You know those people in your life that give you feelings of expansion when you’re together? I’ve been so lucky to have had many opportunities this past year to spend time with friends who make me feel so inspired. I’m looking forward to much more time spent in 2024.

Thanks, 2023…here’s to an even better 2024 ✨
